Shorten your Work Week with Acquisio’s PPC Task Checklist – Part 3

In my previous posts, Shorten your Work Week with Acquisio’s PPC Checklist part 1 and part 2, I outlined my daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly PPC tasks. To keep the engine running smoothly, regular maintenance is necessary to maintain the health of your well-powered PPC machine. This final part is focused on quarterly and semi-annual tasks, mainly geared towards cleaning up your accounts.

Quarterly or Semi-Annual PPC Tasks

Review Historical Performance

Day-to-day changes are important to note, but you also need to zoom out and look at the bigger picture. Take a step back and monitor data over a longer period of time. You may spot interesting seasonal performance trends that you wouldn’t see otherwise.

To help you conduct historical performance reviews, say a quarterly review, create a report with the date set to “Last Quarter”. To compare year over year changes, include “Last Quarter Last Year” as a date range. If you don’t have these dates available in your date selector, simply add them from Admin Settings | Date Ranges.

Remove Old Accounts

If you have old accounts that you are no longer managing, you may want to remove them entirely to reduce the number of accounts that you see. Not only will it make it easier to view your active accounts, but the load will be faster as well.

If you want to keep the historical stats in our platform, you can unlink the publisher, meaning that we will no longer fetch daily stats from that publisher account, but the historical data will be kept. Consider renaming inactive accounts – adding zzz’s in front of the name will move it down the account list.

Personalize Settings

Whether you’re a left-brain or right-brain thinker, create an environment conducive to maximum productivity by personalizing your view. What columns/metrics are you always viewing? In the Acquisio platform, columns are saved per user, account and level. Take advantage and review your columns – remove any clutter.

In the same vein, save your filters! You know the value of using spreadsheets with custom equations; do the same in Acquisio by saving your conditions/filters to aid in your decision-making process.

And if you’re a stickler for details, to save an exact view, just bookmark the URL, which contains all of the parameters needed to identify your current location and customized view.

Keep Updated

We work in a fast paced industry. Just as you need to keep abreast of industry updates, you should also educate yourself on new platform features and tools at your disposal. At Acquisio, we regularly update our software and overall offering. Take a look at our release notes for what’s new. And if it’s been a while since you attended training, you may want to join a live webinar for a refresher, or watch a recorded stream.

Adjust Checklist

Of course, this is not an exhaustive list, nor should you follow it strictly. Like cooking, as you gain more experience, you’ll want to alter the recipe and add in your secret sauce. But if you want some guidance, then this checklist will give you a good push in the right direction.

Once you have a checklist of your daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly or semi-annual tasks, print them out. You may even want to add a reminder to your calendar for the less frequent checks so that you don’t forget.
