Fun Fact Friday: Mobile Ad Spend Now Exceeds Desktop

Fun Fact #2

While total online ad spend is growing steadily, mobile has now overtaken the desktop in ad dollars just like it has with usage time.

The hotly anticipated 2017 Internet Trends Report released earlier this week was full of fun facts that had everyone in the digital sphere talking. One of the most intriguing tidbits for digital marketers was the confirmation that mobile ad spend had surpassed desktop ad spend for the first time. This means the industry predictions of an overall shift of focus to mobile, and the associated budget allocation, were right on the mark.

So what does this mean for marketers? With Google focusing heavily on optimizing for mobile and generating better data for advertisers, there is no better time for digital marketers to include mobile-friendly UX, landing pages, and ads in their strategies. This sound investment will expand the audience reach and maximize returns.

While you’re waiting for next week’s fun fact, why don’t you tell us what you thought was the most interesting stat that came out of Mary Meeker’s 2017 Internet Trends report?
